About us

Monroe Early Childhood Association, INC is a non-profit organization that opened its doors in 1976 to the community. The need was established for a child care service after a detailed analysis of the community needs for children. Over the past 40 years we have served over 3,600 families, with children ages 6 weeks through 13 years of age. In April 2003, the center was able to open an infant/toddler program for children ages 6 weeks through 3 years. Since 2010 the center has had a 45% increase in children and is still growing. In 2013 our center became rated as a tier II (the only one in Mountain Heart South).

Our Faculty

The faculty of the center are all high quality professionals in the early education field with a love for all children we serve. Four of our staff members hold Apprentice Child Development Specialists Certificates. The requirements of all staff are as follows: S.T.A.R.S. registered through the state of WV, must pass a criminal background check, and carry 18 hours of continuing education in child development and early education each year.
